New Portishead Album
Really looking forward to this. the new Portishead Album (named 'Third' ) is being released on 28th April. Its nearly 11 years since the last studio Album was released so will it be any good? Well I heard them playing at the ATP festival in Minehead at the end of last year and they were excellent. Easily the highlight of the weekend for me. They played a few tracks from the new album and they sounded as good as their old stuff. The familliar vocals of Beth sounded as sharp and haunting as ever backed up by a sound that, though obviously portishead, was grungier, harder and faster than much of the last album stuff. Hopefully worth the wait.
Its always hard to do a come back after such a long break. I do hope its a good album. I loved the first album, not the biggest fan of the second but hopefully they can pull it off this time around. Other albums to watch out for is Be your own Pet's new album (released either March or April, and also Young Knifes next album oh and not forgetting Blood Red Shoes first offering :o)
